Essential vs Full Service
The Essential Service is the yearly basics: engine oil change, spark plug, air filter and blade inspection, a visual check of the fuel system, a safety and controls check, and a test run.
The Full Service is everything in Essential plus blade sharpening, cleaning the underside of the deck, a fuel system and carburetor clean, adjusting the controls and lubricating the moving parts. If your mower sat all winter with gas in it, the Full Service is usually the one you want.
What’s not included
Parts. Oil, plugs, filters, blades and anything else it needs are extra, and I’ll tell you what it needs before I install anything. Riding mowers, lawn tractors and zero-turns are billed at $70/hr instead of a set service price.
What changes the cost
A set service covers routine maintenance. The price goes up when the mower needs repair work on top of that:
- A carburetor too varnished to clean that needs replacing
- A bent blade or damaged blade adapter
- Worn drive belts or cables on self-propelled mowers
- Pick-up instead of drop-off
When to book
Early spring, before the grass gets ahead of you. I don’t offer same-day or emergency service, so it pays to book before everyone else remembers their mower.
